Snowy Germany

Last tuesday, we left the Philippines with a heavy heart, a heavy luggage and we arrive here in Germany, with a heavy snow. Its really a big contrast coming from the tropics and arriving here in winter getaway. Anyway, our ten weeks vacation in our country is not enough, we wanted to stay longer but there are business commitments that are already planned. Mutti is also going to celebrate her 18th, ooops sorry its her 80th birthday next month at the Chocolate Museum in Köln.

We have a very smooth flight from NAIA to Bangkok, Kuwait and then Frankfurt. In the plane, there are two patients passenger seeking medical treatment in Germany. I'm not surprised with the strict security check at our own airport, its our first experience that all the contents of all the passengers hand luggage, including coin purse were checked. At Frankfurt, its the same, once you disembark from the plane, there are german airport policemen and K-9 dogs checking passengers and hand luggages. Its understandable, better to impose more security measures than to be sorry later.

We enjoyed very much our vacation and Dirk already started his countdown because we will be back in April. We're now starting to adjust our body clock and instead of being surrounded by greens and warm weather, here its all white, foggy and cold.
