A Visit to Cardiologist

Finally, dirk was released from the hospital today. I picked him up before my 11 am appointment with a heart specialist. As we grow older, it is very important to monitor our heart and other vital parts of our body. So at noon, i submitted myself to the following heart test:

-ECG or Electrocardiogram which records the electrical activity of the heart. It is the best way to measure and diagnose abnormal rhythms of the heart.


-2D Echo or Echo Cardiogram which is the graphic outline of the hearts movement and give valuable information on the structure and functioning of the heart muscle, valves, pumping chambers, etc. In other words, it assess the heart function and determine the presence of heart diseases.


-Treadmill Stress Test helps the doctor find out how well your heart handles work. As your body works harder during the test, it requires more oxygen, so the heart must pump more blood. It also monitored the heart rate, breathing and blood pressure during the test.
