Dragon/Lion Dance

The celebrations of the Chinese New Year in Philippines follow a lot of traditional customs and rituals. Both dragon and lion dance parades is an integral part of the celebrations. The parade is really a visual treat especially among children. Ang Pao is hanged in the entrance of every household and stores which are picked by the lion dancers while dancing. Ang Paos are tiny red envelopes that are filled with ‘good luck money’. Yesterday, we have a small version of the dance which started at Paseo market. Its not as colorful and lively as in Binondo but at least theres some enjoyment for the kids.
