Party by the Sea

Yesterday, we attended the late birthday celebration of Elena. It was held at Achernsee where the guests can swim, play, eat, drink while enjoying the view of the sea. It was a grill party and attended mostly by close family friends.

It was a jampacked party with live music where we enjoyed dancing. It was a day full of fun and the kids enjoyed very much swimming and playing in the sun.


The camping site was filled with laughter from the girls, when filipinas are together that's understandable. We never really run out of topics to discuss.

The Kitchen Queen

Last week, my daughter rose belle and the managers of McDonalds San Pedro went on a night swimming. Just like me, she also cannot swim, so she ended up in the kitchen cooking for her colleagues.

She cooks better than me, she probably got her cooking prowess from my late mom.

Do you know that i am a very loyal customer of esprit products from head to toe? The Esprit club is esprit's big, new customer club where a member receives a 3% discount in the form of e-points credited to their points account for every purchase made at an esprit shop or online.

For the past years, i shopped esprit stuff not only online but on cities like hamburg, berlin, budapest, vienna, amsterdam and other big cities, that i accumulated a lot of points and reach the platinum level. But because of the crisis, i need to do some cost-cutting and minimize my shopping. That's why i lose my platinum and return to the normal red card again.

LP 59- Alam mo ba..? (Do you know...?)

Our Construction Workers

Time really flies fast, its now 6 months and our retirement house is soon to be finished. Every week, my children visited the site and update us with pictures on the development of the construction. In one of their visits, they found the workers resting.

Our workers enjoy a one hour lunch break at 12 noon and 30 minutes break each in the morning and in the afternoon. That is understandable, their work is very hard, mostly physical and they need some rest to gain strength. Their capital at work is their power. They are exposed to the heat of the sun and heavy rains. They work very hard to put food on the table and to send their kids to school.

McDonalds Kiddie Crew 2009

The other week, my grandsons, nieces and nephews attended the mcdonalds kiddie crew workshop. It is a yearly event specially designed for kids to learn the values of hardwork, friendship, teamwork, self-confidence and cleanliness while having fun.

With a healthy mix of fun and learning activities, they were taught to man the counter, greet and serve guests and how to clean up. All these activities are anchored on promoting positive values among the kids.

Since its beginning, hundreds of thousands of kids have joined and successfully graduated the workshop.

Meet The Bremer

Today, we visited my niece Mary Ann at their Waldkirch home. She and her brand new husband just returned from Denmark where they got married in a civil ceremony. She is scheduled to fly back to Dubai on monday where she's going to take an intensive german language course and to process her visa.

She is the third daughter of my only brother and she's working at one of the McDonalds fast food chain in Dubai. I haven't seen her for more than 2 years and she liked very much her short stay here in Germany.

A Busy Friday

For others they always say, thanks God its friday because its the last working day followed by a relax weekend. For me, its the other way around, i have a friday deadline for finishing all my office work and weekend is my hotel working days.

Dirk is now getting paranoid on our new nokia E90 communicator which is complicated to make the internet working so he decided to just sell it to his brother. We even go to nokia and vodafone shop and bought this Call Ya sim card just for this phone, but to no avail.

Our Bird's Nest

Here in Germany, all birds, their nest and eggs are protected by law. Birds can set up their nest anywhere they want as long as they will be able to raise baby birds in peace. Some birds makes their nest in places where they won't be disturbed. But what if they are a threat to health and safety, can they be removed??

It can be made out of a variety of materials such as twigs and grassess. Our own birds nest which is there for more than 20 years is made out of birds extrements. Every morning, the chirping of the small birds is just like a music to my ears.

Our New Toy

It's been my obsession to have an I-Phone but its still very expensive. You need to pay 40 euro per month for two years if its a contract and its locked. While flipping through the pages of Media Markt, i saw an ad for this Nokia E75. It's nice but still out of the world expensive for me.

Dirk tried E-bay and found Nokia E90 communicator and the price is reasonable. It's just like a mobile office with high speed mobile broadband, conference calling,camera, music and media player. Now, we can optimize our business with this 3G device.

Liberty's Birthday

Yesterday, my cousin Libay as we fondly called her, celebrated her 40th birthday. It was attended mostly by relatives and close friends. The guests ate vegetable salads fresh from her garden and some filipino foods. Her Husband also grilled some sausages, meat and barbeque. There are also pinoy delicacies like biko, leche plan, cassava cake and assortment of cakes.

It was a day full of fun, exchanging jokes and updates on our lives.

The Two Lalaine

The other day, Lalaine picked me up to visit the other Lalaine. They're both my friends and we have a small get together. So, we just call them by their nicknames, Lani (below) is the one who pick me up and the owner of the house is Laine.

As if we didn't see each other for a long time but we're together during my birthday last sunday. There's no dull moment when we're together, exchanging jokes and having fun.
