Our Malaga Adventure- Day 1

It´s an exhausting trip yesterday, we have a smooth 3-hour flight from cologne to malaga and from the airport to our hotel. We´re here for a week golf vacation and though i´m not playing golf, there are other things to do and enjoy.

We´re staying in Hotel Almenara, a 5-star hotel here and i´m really shocked at the prices. The double room costs 385 euro per night, massage is 76 euro, manicure 70 and facial 105, its good the use of gym is free.

LP 55- Tulay or Bridge

Happy LP to all!!! Ito naman ang aking lahok sa litratong pinoy sa temang tulay para sa araw na ito.

Ang tulay na yari sa kahoy ay matatagpuan sa Mekong River sa Vietnam. Nang makita ko ang tulay, bigla kong naalala ang ating bayang magiliw. Marami ring ganitong tulay sa atin lalo na sa mga lalawigan. We use this wooden bridge when we have our river cruise along mekong. I suddenly remember our country because we also have lots of this especially in the provinces

Swine Flu Outbreak

A virus that normally infects pigs called swine flu has been detected in people in mexico, UK, the US, New Zealand and Canada. The form of flu that originated in mexico is a genetic mixture of viruses that have been seen in pigs, birds and people.

Health officials around the world are now readying measures to prevent its widespread. The symptoms are coughing, sneezing, headaches, body aches, fever, chills and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea.

Though germany is not yet affected, people are refraining from buying pork in the supermarket, they now prefer beef or buy grilled chicken instead.

Friends in the City

While browsing around offenburg the other day, i saw some friends either shopping or eating in a restaurant. We seldom see each other and the meeting was just a coincidence. Its good that the weather is getting better everyday.

Picture of (Food) Interest

Cabalen serves up traditional Filipino entrees heavy on influences from Pampanga, a province in central luzon. They offer a thorough sampling of exotic selections in their buffet. The buffet price is 298 with more than 50 plus selections of dishes and desserts.

Typical dishes includes gatang kuhol (snails in coconut milk) and crispy baby crab below.

It was just fun taking pictures of these foods, though i dont eat shells nor small crabs. My gym friends feasted on gatang kuhol using their bare hands and toothpick to remove the thing inside the shells.

Crisis in the Philippines

The Philippines is now suffering the biggest blow brought by the economic recession in the US. The remittances of the filipino overseas workers was not enough to improve our economy and to prevent the effect of the crisis.

The high rate of unemployment continue to increase, the same with the price of basic commodities. There is also a widespread of poverty and malnutrition in the country.

To cope up with the daily expenses, some people pawned their precious belongings to be able to survive.

Considering that our country is still not yet in recession, the government should do something to save the failing economy. Hopefully, there will still be a rainbow after the rain.

LP 54- Building or Gusali

Happy LP sa lahat! Ito naman ang aking lahok sa
Litratong Pinoy sa temang Gusali para sa araw ng Huwebes.


Ang gusaling nakalarawan ay kuha sa bansang Vietnam nung kamiy nagbakasyon doon taong 2006. Maraming turista ang nagpupunta sa Ho Chi Min City o dating tawag na Saigon. The building shot was taken in Vietnam during our visit in 2006.

Ito naman ang makulay na gusali sa Offenburg,Germany. Ito ay ang Mueller department store na malapit lang din sa aming lugar. This is a colorful Mueller department store near our place

Botika naman ang nasa ibaba ng gusaling ito na malapit din sa building na nakalarawan sa itaas. The lower ground of this building is a drugstore also near mueller.

Nabighani din ako sa gusaling ito sa Kuwait. Malapit lang din ito sa tinutuluyan naming Hilton Hotel sa Kuwait City, UAE noong kami'y magbakasyon doon.

Grace's Birthday

After our coffe and cake at vanessa's communion, we then all proceed to griesheim to attend the celebration of grace birthday. They had a 3-day non-stop celebration, friday is the babtismal of robi, saturday is the first communion and yesterday is grace's birthday (celebrant in glittering top)

This time, we feasted on grace culinary expertise on filipino foods. We enjoyed eating shrimps and alimasag, pinoy beefsteak, fried chicken and her paella.

Vanessa's First Communion

Yesterday was a busy day for me. I attended vanessa's communion and grace birthday. I saw once again friends that i haven't seen for a long time. It was attended by relatives and family friends who witnessed her first reception of the sacrament of the eucharist.

First communion is very important to roman catholics. Traditions usually includes large family gatherings and parties to celebrate the event. Vanessa is a picture of a happy child for she was showered with love by her parents, relatives and family friends. The lunch cum kaffee trinken was held at Rammersweier Hof Hotel and Restaurant, owned by my employer.

Robi's Baptismal

Today, i attended the baptismal of Robi, the son of my friend Grace. He is 8 years old and before his first communion tomorrow, he should be baptized first. It was attended by his family and close friends.


It's my first time to attend a different approach to baptismal. There are some german children who rendered songs for Robi and participated in church discussions.


Robi was overwhelmed with the love and support from family and friends. Truly, his baptismal is a memorable one, unlike when you're baptized as a baby, you dont remember anything.

Astrid's Graduation

Yesterday, my youngest daughter Astrid graduated at La Consolacion College-Binan with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA). Thank God she was still able to make it after a traumatic car accident three weeks ago.

She's the driver of our honda CRV when due to the heavy rains, the car lost its control and hit the high pavement instead. The two tires explode and she was hospitalized for CT scan. She's probably too fast, underestimate the curve and had no knowledge of aqua planning.

Thank God her CT scan result was normal. Good thing when the accident happened her classmates just got off the car and only one left but she's at the back seat. They just came from southforbes swimming party to celebrate the birthdays of the two classmates.

I believe that she was guided by our LORD because the accident happened in front of the church after the southwoods exit. Indeed, miracle happened in some mysterious ways. Our Mama Mary statue is very much intact in front and would you believe that there's no scratches on the car, all the damage was underneath.

Though the cost of repair is really high, what is important is LIFE. It's her second life and probably she still had a mission to fulfill. With her graduation in college, its not the end but its the beginning of a new life. A life outside the school and hopefully she can find a job soon. For me its not the end as well, i still have two kids in college. Education is the only gift that i can give to them. Kudos also to my better half Dirk, who's very supportive to my children's education and fulfillment of their dreams.
