The Web Power

Yesterday, while we're buying cakes at Goldilocks, a couple approached us and say hello. They said they're reading our blogs and just live nearby. Its amazing how the worldwide web connects people. We invite them to our house and promised to keep in touch. They are newly weds and starting to build a life here where there are lots of sun and wonderful people.




Also yesterday, Oliver, a family friend whom Dirk met at Philippine forum came with his two children. We really met a lot of friends here with the help of the internet.

Body Pampering

One of the best thing here in the Philippines is that body pampering is more cheaper compared to Germany. That's why when we're here for vacation, we take advantage of the affordable small luxuries in life. Twice or thrice a week, our massage girl comes for a two hour body massage for Dirk. She do a korean massage and here she is in full action.

MOA Shopping

Yesterday, we did drive to the Mall of Asia together with our guests. We took advantage of the on-going christmas sale there. Our friends bought shoes, christmas presents and some souvenir items.







We then have lunch at Italienni's, an italian restaurant overlooking manila bay.

Homeowners Christmas Party

Last night, we attended the southforbes homeowners annual christmas party. The number of attendees tripled compare to last year because of the additional house construction thus increasing the number of houseowners.





It was well organized and the foods by potluck was just enough for all the guests and staff of southforbes. There are christmas presentations, exchange gifts, parlor games and dancing.





As planned, most of the homeowners came in red and green outfit, the color of christmas. Foods, beverages and alcoholic drinks overflowed the christmas party. We have the chance to meet new homeowners and their families. I think thats the true essence of the get together, helping each other, building a livable community and establishing harmonious relationship among the homeowners.

Kengkay and Cool Mom

At last, the lady who influenced me to blog comes face to face with cool mom. She is none other than Raquel, the author of two blogs Homeworked and Kwentong Kengkay. She and her family lives in Heidelberg, Germany, and though we're just one hour apart, we don't have the chance for a meet ups there.




She visited us together with her kengkoy and two little kengkays. Though we met just twice, we seems to know each other for a long time. They are now based here and the kids are slowly adjusting to their new environment.

Dirk's Birthday

Yesterday, my schatz Dirk celebrated his 54th birtday. We first have lunch at Italienni's restaurant in Nuvali. Beside the restaurant is a flea market for christmas shoppers.






In the afternoon, Thomas and his family arrived from Boracay. I served them mango cake from Red Ribbon and my very own Turon.










My plan is to celebrate dirk's birthday with a simple get together with my family. But he wants something else, a birthday celebration with fireworks on the bay. So with our guests, we drive to Mall of Asia to have dinner by the seaside.





But heavy traffic changed our plans, instead of Mall of Asia, we decided instead to have dinner at Max Restaurant in Festival Mall. The Max crew join the celebration by rendering happy birthday song and presents a small cake to blow for dirk. Indeed, its a joyous celebration even without fireworks, what is important is we celebrated his very important day with his loved ones and friends closest to his heart.
