Goodbye Acay

Yesterday, a very good friend  joined her Creator and we still can't believe that she is now in heaven. Acay or Teacher Verna to others is a very good mother to Benjie and sister to Remy, Jackie, Marina, Joey and the rest of the Magaso siblings. Dirk and me felt that we are their extended family because we are always invited in their special occasions. She died because of a stroke with heart complication and we sympathize deeply with their great loss. She is the life of every parties and her laughter and jokes always overwhelmed. Rest in peace my dear friend, heaven gained a good teacher and an entertainer.

By the way, we also visited her wake at Eternal Garden in Santa Rosa. Acay is now at peace and her son Benjie seemed to be a strong man.  We did not join the internment but at least we did pay our last respect to her.

SRCLC Turn Over Ceremony

All officers of Lions Club International ended their term last June 30. We at Santa Rosa Centennial Lions Club MJF has a new set of officers and we had a turn over ceremony last July 1. We also had a meeting and plan our projects for this year. We also follow social distancing and we wore mask during our meeting. It is really a nice feeling to be a member of Lions club, the biggest social service club in the world. With our new President, Lion Wendy, of course our hundred percent support is on her and we will continue to help the people in need.

My International Lions Convention Experience

I am very proud to represent our very own country in the three Lions international conventions that i attended. Its only this year that the convention was cancelled because of Covid 19. Everything is on hold until all the travel restrictions are lifted. I would admit that i miss travelling but of course i will not take the risk of being infected. Travelling is part of my DNA or my whole system, maybe because of my big mole on my left foot, i believe not. Anyway, i really gained lot of experience and meet new friends when i'm attending our clubs convention. My travel is always a mixture of pleasure, adventure , social service and of course visiting my family and friends.

The side trips are always exciting....
