Back to Normal after the Storm

Two days ago, a powerful typhoon struck Manila and other areas which leaves some casualties and lot of people homeless and powerless. Exactly a year ago its Ondoy's fury that devastated our country. As always, Filipinos always moved on after every storm, big or small. We're very lucky that we're not affected that much because of our place elevation. My prayers and sympathies to those families who lost their homes and loved ones. By the way, since our body clock becomes normal, its back to life again...

The Long Journey Back Home

There were some minor problems with our flight back to Manila last thursday, delayed flight in Frankfurt and re-scheduled flight to Manila. Anyway, for us its not a big deal because they provided an overnight accommodation with free dinner and breakfast. But i pitied those who have connecting flights in Manila and their families who have to bear the long waiting at the airport. So after two days of up and down the air, thanks GOD we finally arrived to a place we called home.

The Joy of Cooking

Yesterday, my bestfriend Joy and me spend some time in the kitchen to cooked our favorite Filipino dish. Our joint project turned out to be delicious though we lack some ingredients. Anyway, what is important is that we enjoyed a good meal, were able to relax and forget for a short time all the worries of the world. These are the moments that we should savor where we also feel the joy of cooking by enjoying our labor of love.

By the way, i also spend some minutes with my other friends when i saw them having a late lunch in the chinese restaurant in Offenburg last friday.

Köln/Bonn Trip

Last wednesday, we did drive to Köln to visit Mutti at her rehabilitation clinic and to attend the necrological service for tante Krista. It took us more than four hours to reach Köln because of traffic due to road construction. Tante Krista is the youngest sister of Mutti who died of cancer two weeks ago and we're all very sad for her demise but she has no more pain now. She's now in heaven and will remain forever in our hearts. On the lighter note, we're glad that Mutti is recovering fast from her knee replacement operation. She's having her therapy at Karl-Kaiser clinic in Bonn and now doing some activities and exercises.

A Relaxing Weekend

I have a wonderful time with my close friends last saturday. We have a late lunch at chinese restaurant in offenburg and browsed around the city.

The weather is sooo nice thats why most of the coffee/ice cream shops were full. We also watched a fashion show featuring the latest creation of the newly opened store in the city.

Just sharing....
By the way, Dirk bought a new Ipad for me, so goodbye notebooks and laptops.

Yesterday, on our way home, my camera captured the nice view of the moon over the mountain.
