Our Vienna Trip

Our recent visit to Vienna, Austria was a combination of business and pleasure trip. Its our second time this year and its more enjoyable because its summer unlike last march that the temperature was minus 15. I really loved Vienna, also described as Europe's cultural capital, a metropolis with unique charm, vibrancy and flair. It boasts outstanding infrastructure, is clean and safe, and has all the inspiration that you could wish for in order to discover this wonderful part of Europe. It is also a dream city for anyone with a romantic streak or an interest in history. Join me as i show you one of the beautiful city in Europe.

Sunday with Friends

Apologies to readers of Cool Mom for the lack of regular posts. Some of you might think that i already lost interest in sharing my experiences, but its not true. I have been busy preparing balikbayan boxes and didn't find time to write articles and update my blog. The important thing is that i'm here again to write and very happy to be back here in blogosphere. By the way, its a long weekend here in Germany because of Pfingsten (Whitsun or Pentecost), a Christian celebration that remembers the Holy Spirit being poured out upon the followers of Jesus. It is a great weekend for family bonding, visiting friends, picnics and other outdoor activities. Some parts of Germany have school holidays that start on this weekend. While the city feels quiet and peaceful, i just spend this day hanging out with friends.

International Festival

Every year, the International Festival in Offenburg strived to bring together different cultures that make up our community. The purpose is designed to encourage understanding and appreciation of various cultures. It feature international goods, foods, music, dance, arts and other activities for all ages. For the first time, through the initiation of Elena's family and friends, the Philippines joined in the festival. We did sell pinoy dishes like pancit, barbeque, lumpia, adobo and even biko. It was a success with the support of our kababayans and german friends. The festival brings many international communities together to build better community/race relations between themselves and the region as a whole.

Alexis 2nd Birthday

Its Fathers day in Germany last June 2nd and at the same time Alexis, the 2nd daughter of Thomas and Mabel celebrated her 2nd birthday. Its just a simple get-together of friends and relatives and not childrens party. Maybe next time when she already have her own circle of play/class mates in the kindergarten. She's just enjoying her day though she's not feeling well because of colds.

Friends Get Together

Yesterday, we have a simple get-together at Imelda's place. It is always a joy to see friends again and its usually a time for renewing acquaintances, sharing stories and reminiscing the good times.
