The "Me" Day

Today, i have the house all for myself. Dirk played golf with Steve and Lance while my daughter Astrid accompany Buddy to LTO for her drivers license application. Of all Dirk's student in driving, Buddy had the least mistake and drives like a pro. I'm supposed to pamper myself at Paseo but i was not able to do so because of the housework. At least i was able to clean the house, wash and iron our clothes and organize my things without disturbance.

After playing golf, we decided to take our lunch at Grace&Rose restaurant. Everyday we eat outside for lunch and cook something for dinner at home.

Sunday by the Bay

Our family friends Marianne and Ulli invited us yesterday to visit their place and farm in Canlubang, Laguna. Their property is near Laguna de Bay and we have the nice view of the biggest lake in the country and also one of the primary sources of freshwater fish. We agreed to meet them at their subdivision gate and lead us to their humble house.

Their place in San Jose is just 3 minutes drive from our house. It is owned by Ayala and there's already an established community there. It is a practical choice of residence because its also near their workplace.

We then have our lunch at shakey's ordering our favorite spaghetti, chicken, mojos and pepperoni thin crust pizza.

On the way to Canlubang, we passed by Evelyn and Richard's place. They also joined us going to the farm and visiting marianne's family.

Part of the Krause farm by the lake was temporarily rented by a bingo stall in preparation for the town fiesta.

With Marianne's family, you can feel the close ties of the family members. We received a very warm welcome from them and her mother even invited us for the coming fiesta but unfortunately we're not here anymore.

The Last Days of Summer

For the past days its raining but according to the weather forecaster rainy days will start in the coming weeks. It will coincide with the opening of classes and thats not good for our schoolchildren. Our government is doing their best to prepare when La Nina strikes. In the meantime, we're just enjoying the rest of the sun and one of the best way to beat the heat is eating halo halo. Our three shitzus also enjoyed taking a bath in the faucet.

Dirk also take advantage of working outside with the help of my daughters.

The Bowlers

After our lunch at Sizzlin Pepper Steak restaurant at Festival Mall, we then browsed around the store before driving to Star Mall for some sport activities with friends.

We played bowling with Evelyn and Richard and they are really very good. They are based in China before and always joining competitions thats why they were able to collect championship trophies. The last time i played bowling was ten years ago and we even represent our school in inter-university bowling tournament in Laguna. Its my favorite sport while Dirk liked outdoor activities more like golf and swimming.

Close to Nature

Yesterday, we did drive to Canlubang, Laguna to visit a family friend Evelyn and Richard. Their place is near Laguna Lake and they have fruit trees in their backyard. I can feel the serenity of the place away from the hustle and busy city life. They gave us papaya because its Dirk's favorite breakfast. Its a good sight of rural life in the modern age.

We then visited another german constructing their retirement home on the same subdivision. Brenda, the Filipina wife is very much hands on in the construction of their dream house.
