Bonding with Friends

Last friday, we dined at Lalaine and Michael König's house for our weekly get together. This time, we were joined by Gwen and Mary with her kids. As usual, Lalaine prepared german and filipino foods. We feasted on ginataang sugpo, adobo, pinakbet and longaniza on the kitchen table while our partners ate their german foods in the dining area.

Yesterday, the lunch at agnes' house and dinner at Lani's place was not on the day's agenda. It's just a spontaneous action and it's a good feeling to see them once again.

I'm very lucky to have lots of friends around, they always welcome me with open
arms everytime we see each other.

A Surprise Call

Yesterday, i got a surprise call from a friend whom i met early this year. She lives in Saarbrücken near Luxembourg and i met her on the airport on our way back here. She is so bubbly and i enjoyed very much talking with her. She also live in Manila and she's very thankful that her house was not affected by the recent typhoon.
We never run out of topics to discuss only the phone's battery is already at the end of its life cycle. We promised each other to keep in touch and hopefully she can visit us as well.

LP - Tamad (Lazy)

Happy LP sa lahat bagama't marami sa ating mga kababayan ay nahihirapang bumangon sa pinsalang dulot ng bagyong Ondoy o Ketsana. Dalangin ko na sana'y marami pa ang tumulong ng sa gayon ay maibsan ang kanilang mga nararamdamang lungkot bunga ng di inaasahang trahedya sa buhay. Atin ding silipin ang mga lahok ng ibang kasapi sa Litratong Pinoy sa temang TAMAD.

Ang aking unang lahok ay si LOLA. Napagod siya ng kalalakad sa siyudad ng Offenburg kung kaya't tinamad na siyang maglakad, umupo na lamang at inistretch na lamang ang mga paa.

Si MANONG naman ang pangalawa kong lahok. Hindi pa naman siya matanda, pwede pa siyang maghanapbuhay pero siya ay tamad, kung kaya't namalimos na lamang. Hindi ko lubos maisip kung bakit may mga taong gustong mamuhay sa tulong ng iba, wala naman silang kapansanan, katamaran na lang talaga.

Sa ikatlong larawan, si AKO ay tinamad magluto, pizza na lamang sana ang kakainin ko, diet kasi ang drama ko sa buhay ngayon, kaya lang naimbitahan akong mag lunch sa bahay ng isang malapit na kaibigan. Mahirap namang umiwas sa grasya kaya go na rin ako at saka iba talaga kapag may kasalo kang kumain, bigla tuloy nawala sa isip ko ang pagbawas ng timbang, sino ba naman ang di gaganahan sa ulam na sugpo at adobo.

A Wake-Up Call

Typhoon Ondoy is one of the worst typhoon that hit the Philippines which brought a large volume of rains that causes extreme flash floods, damage to properties and death. So, who shall we blame for all these nature attack? the global warming/climate change or the people? I think we abused our environment too much and no one can predict the weather, but our country could have been more prepared. All of us are most probably responsible for the abnormal weather pattern. Global warming is already taking its toll, its now more of a fact than fiction.

Poor urban planning can also be attributed to the flashfloods, the substandard sewerage system, the shortcomings on the part of the government and its officials, the illegal loggers and the garbage throwers. Its a wake-up call to our public official and to our people to be responsible. Set aside the blame game, the political parties and let's all work together for the restoration process.

Weekly Get-Together

Last Friday, its Joy and Edgar Deichelbohrer's turn to host dinner for us. Joy prepared a combination of german and filipino foods. For us pinays, she cooked crispy fried dilis with matching tomatoes and beef nilaga. Our german partners enjoyed potato salad, pumpkin soup, vegetable salad and oven cooked schaufele.

Lilia joined us and she did bring carrot cake and my share is leche plan and fruit salad for dessert. It's indeed a night to remember with good friends around.

It's Autumn

It's herbst here in Germany and we're now experiencing colder weather. Summer outfit are now back in the clothes cabinet and we're now wearing pullover and thin jackets. While the weather can turn temperamental, we can sometimes experience wonderfully cold but sunny weather with brilliantly blue skies.

While stopping in a traffic light, i was able to capture an electric car. It is an alternative fuel automobile that uses electric motors and motor controllers for propulsion, in place of more common propulsion methods such as the internal combustion engine. But electric vehicles which store electrical energy in a capacitor or battery would not be able to immediately replace all gasoline cars given the available transportation infrastructure.

Cha-Cha's Pastime

Cha-cha, our shitzu dog in the Philippines always play with my grandchildren. She also loves to watch you tube. Once the computer is on, she will positioned herself in front of the computer.

She likes to watch videos about dogs and puppies. Look at her reaction as if she wanted to join the dogs in the video or maybe she want to switch to another video with the position of her left leg. Maybe later on she will blog, tweet and have her friendster and facebook account as well.
