A Relax Day

Today we have a very relax day in the hotel where we work. We only have three guests so we finished early. Unlike last week which is stressful because all the rooms are occupied. The seminar room were also used and the restaurant had lots of hungry guests. The quiet atmosphere in the hotel gave us time to recharge our body and mind. When there are lots of work in the hotel, we always skipped lunch. But today, we had a mouth-watering lunch at elena's place. She did cooked chicken curry, beef sinigang and tiramisu as dessert. Any meals is enjoyable if you share it with friends.

The TGV Train

The TGV is France's high speed train. It holds the record for the fastest wheeled train having reached 574.8 km/h and the world's highest average speed for a regular passenger service. Travel by TGV has largely replaced air travel between connected european cities due to shorter travel time (especially for trips taking less than 3 hours). It also reduced check-in, security and boarding formalities and the convenient locations in the heart of cities. From our place, if you want an adventure, it is possible to go to Paris in the morning and returned in the evening, thus saving on hotel accomodations.

World's Famous Towers

I still can't believe that i've been to well-known towers in different continents. Before, i only saw these towers in the magazines and its a dream come true for me to experienced to be on top of the world's towering towers.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Note that i'm sporting a short haircut during our visit to Paris in 2002.

Petronas Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2003

Tokyo Tower, Japan, 2004. I was surprised that Tokyo Tower is higher by few centimeters than Eiffel Tower of Paris.

Kuwait Tower, 2005.

Burj Al Arab , which literally means Tower of the Arabs, is the tallest building used exclusively as a state-of-the art 7-star hotel and stands on an artificial island in Dubai.

Kim Jeremi

Kim (far right-flashing V sign) is my grandson from my eldest daughter, Rose Belle. For the past days he is very much depressed because his school already announced the top ten students to receive recognition on march 25. Out of 129 preparatory students, he ranked number 12 and thats the reason of his sadness. Of course, i did console him that he did tried his very best and assured him that in my heart he is the first honor. Now he is somehow relieved because he now uses the portable play station (PSP) that we did send thru my friend Joy.

Dual Purpose Bread

In our trip to eastern europe last week, we discovered another purpose for a big round bread. We did ordered as starter an onion soup and to our surprise its inside the bread. It was cut in half, making the bigger portion the soup bowl and the other half, the cover, which you can eat to match the soup. Aside from saving time and money, the restaurant is also attracting customers.

Minka and Friends

Today, i'm happy to see Minka back to her old self. She is the adoptive cat of the hotel owner. Two weeks ago, she had a violent fight with another stray cat that left her with a deep cut in the head that almost exposed her brain. Our employer took pity of her and brought her to the animal doctor for operation. Now, she looks fine and hopefully her enemy will not hurt her again.

After playing with Minka, we dropped by at cecille's place without notice. They are eating when we arrived so the girls invited us to joined the sumptuous lunch prepared by elena. The get-together give us the chance to discuss our work plans/schedule since two of our co-worker/friends are leaving for Philippines tomorrow. They're going to stay there close to three weeks to visit their 88-year old father. It's funny that even our german colleague requested for our very own broomstick (walis tingting)for a present.

My Navi and the City

My car stereo is kaputt. While we're eating at McDonalds two weeks ago, some teenagers make fun of my outside antenna. It's so boring when there's no music while driving. It's good that my navigator served as my entertainment coz it also has music function.

Today sunday, all shops in the city are open. This is a good opportunity for people to shop which they cannot do on weekdays because of work. There are lots of stores offering discounts and winter sale. Its also a bonding time for families with children. Most of the ice cream and coffee shops are also full.
