Manila Trip

It took us two hours to reach tutuban because of the on-going skyway construction. We used the road leading to malacanang then c.m. recto avenue. It suddenly flashed on my mind my growing up and school days around that area.

You need a lot of concentration driving in that area of the university belt going to divisoria. The presence of all kinds of vehicles, people popping out here and there and the traffic really makes it hard to go there.

I really admired my other half's driving skills because he is now filipinized more or less, sometimes adopting the defensive mode. He used the horn when necessary and always observe traffic courtesy. He just temporarily set aside the over organize traffic rules and good roads in germany.

Thank God we survive the trip and we were able to buy the things we needed especially the fabric material for dirk's shorts and t-shirt.

Family Weekend

Cool mom is back in the blogosphere. Because of our sloooow internet connection, i was not able to blog and blog hop. And yesterday, we started the day with body pampering, a massage for dirk and body scrub for me.

We then shopped for our one week food consumption at SM Supermarket. Take a look at our small shopping cart, its not enough so we change it to a big one.

In the afternoon, together with my grandchildren, sisters and nephews, we have a small picnic at our villas clubhouse pool.

The kids enjoyed very much and as always its hard to convince them to get out of the swimming pool.

After swimming, we treated the kids for dinner at Jollibee Paseo before calling it a night.

A Busy Friday

Today, Dirk did test drive a toyota fortuner car. It is our dream car but we don't have plans of buying one even in the near future because of budget constraints. We're satisfied with our honda CRV and Dirk is just curious of the car.

We even go to mitsubishi yesterday to test drive the Fusion model but its not available in their showroom.

After our test driving adventure, we did drive to Ayala Westgrove, a high end subdivision south of manila. We were invited by dirk's golf colleague there and he toured us around the area. It's a very nice weekend getaway far from the busy and noisy metropolis.

Happy LP sa lahat, araw na naman ng Huwebes at ito naman ang aking lahok sa temang DITO LANG. Atin ding silipin ang lahok ng iba pang kasapi sa litratong pinoy

Gusto ko talagang makapunta sa malalaking ukay-ukay store pero di pa natutupad. Kaya pinagtiyagaan ko na lang ang maliit na second hand shop na ito na malapit sa aming tinitirhan. DITO LANG mabibili ang mga panggamit sa katawan sa murang halaga at may kalidad na matatawag. I really wanted to visit bigger ukay ukay stores, but due to time constraints i was not yet able to do so. So i just visit the small ukay ukay store near our place. Its only here that you can buy cheaper clothes and accessories that fits your budget.

DITO lang din sa pugon na ito bini bake ang pandesal at iba pang tinapay sa tradisyunal na paraan gamit ang panggatong na kahoy. Here they prepare pandesal in the old traditional way using fire from wood with a large brick oven situated right in front of the display area.

Dirk, the Doting Opa

Jaimee, the newest addition to the family and my daughter Arianne was discharged from the hospital today. We ignore the typhoon signal number 1 and drive safely the new mother and daughter back home.

She was born three weeks earlier so some baby things are not yet in there. So we did drive to SM and bought a baby crib and carrier. Dirk is a picture of a doting opa and me, a proud grandma. He's the one who choose the baby things suited for our new little princess.

Hello World, I'm Jaimee

Thank GOD, finally the mini me of my daughter Arianne was born today. She gave birth by normal delivery to a bouncing baby girl named Jaimee Antonie. She weighs 2.7 kilograms with black hair. She's very cute and i'm really very happy because of her safe delivery. I have now six grandchildren and Jaimee is my third grandaughter.

When we visited her in the nursery she's still quite shy always covering her face

The family came in full force to be with my daughter during and after delivery.

Monday Madness

Yesterday, i was pissed because our washing machine is not functioning properly. The drain pipe is clogged and the water remain inside. It's only today that i wash our clothes by hand. For me its not a problem, before there's no washing machine but we're able to survive.

So today, we did bring our washing machine to the repair service. The repair guy found dirk's sock inside the drain pipe. We're still wondering how this sock travelled to the pipe and clogged the drain system. Now its functioning again, but there's some leak again at the back, grrrr.

The Sisters

Today, i spend the day with my other sister who also live in germany. I have not seen her for a long time and we toured her around southforbes. She's also here for a two-month vacation and this is a rare chance that sisters are together.

She's staying with my youngest sister who prepared dinner for us. We missed my elder sister who just left to attend to the needs of my children.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's day, to our Father in heaven, to my schatz Dirk and to all the father, grandfather, father figure, forefather, uncles and stepfather.

Today, we honor all the father's in this world. Let's also not forget other men who acted as father figure in our lives. Father's day give us the opportunity to express our love and care to the man who make a lot of sacrifice and the roles they have played in shaping our lives.

To my sweetheart Dirk, we want you to know that you're a very good father. You're very special in our hearts and we love you so much, happy dad's day!!!

Saturday Action

We did woke up very early today because of the delivery of our windows and doors from Germany. We need to accompany the forwarders inside Southforbes for gate pass application. With the medium built of our workers, 6 tons of windows and doors was too much.

As a reward to them, we treated our 35 construction workers and 5 security guards of Southforbes villas for lunch. We then proceeded to tagaytay for our customized sliding doors.

We also bought a fountain and three flower pots for our garden.


A furniture company is also going to supply us two customized king size bed for our guest room.

We also choose a native sofa for our terrace.

We then proceeded to SM Santa Rosa for pampering and shopping. Dirk had a massage and i have my regular facials.

Busy as a Bee

Since we arrived last sunday, we're very busy with matters concerning the construction of our retirement house. We met our engineers and also bought some things needed in the house and on the site.



Today, we did settle the railing and the sliding door project. At last, our windows and doors from Germany finally arrived and the forwarder is going to deliver the stuff in the next days. Our roof tiles from Malaysia also passed the custom and will arrive soon.


The kitchen contractor and the landscaper also arrived today. We accomplished a lot of things and still find time to try the new chinese restaurant in front of paseo. Their foods are delicious, nice ambience and the price is also cool. We also choose plants for our garden and decided that we're going to put a trimmed plants on the borders instead of fence.

Back here in Pinas

For the past days, i have no updates on my blog. It's because we're back here in the Philippines. We have a very smooth flight and I'm really very happy to set foot on our motherland amidst the growing case of people afflicted with the virus. There's really no place like home. I'm glad that i will be with my family once again.

I'm back on the web as well. I really missed my blogging, bloghopping, web browsing and of course my e-friends.


We did fly via KLM and 95 percent of the passengers were filipinos, so you could just imagine the sounds inside the plane.

It's a non-stop flight from amsterdam to manila and we got a very cheap air fare

The only disadvantage is that we're only allowed 20 kilos for our baggage

Musicbox Party

Yesterday, a good friend Josephine celebrated her 30++ birthday. It's supposed to be held at chinese restaurant but changed the plans two days before. She is right, if its at chinese, we will all just sit, eat and talk. At musicbox, its more of action, singing, dancing, eating, playing slotmachines, stuffed toys machine and lots of blah blah blah, there's really no boring moments.



So, she decided to have a party at musicbox, a restaurant, disco and karaoke bar in one. We really have lots of fun, the kids and teens enjoyed it too.


Two belly dancers also performed in her birthday.



The celebrant, a karaoke queen herself have a very nice voice. Her rendition of the song To love you more was superb.

We were surprised that a very good friend Michael is the total entertainer that night, he is our concert king and his partner Grace is the dancing queen.


It was a wonderful night, full of fun and surprises and to you Jo, Happy Birthday again and wishing you all the best in life!!!!
