The First of May

The catholic churches all over Germany celebrated a mass today to commemorate Christi Himmelfahrt which means the return of our Jesus Christ as the son of God to his Father in heaven. It is a catholic fest forty days after the easter sunday.

May 1 is also labor and father's day here in Germany. Unlike in Asia and the United States, father's day is celebrated every second sunday of June.

There's no holiday if you're working in a hotel. There are guests to attend to, rooms to clean and having breakfast buffet is one of our privilege, not bad right???

Back home, labor day is always marked by protests for an increase in salary and improved working conditions. Price of basic commodities including gasoline continued to rise and the problems with shortage of rice remain unsolved.
