Sunday Bonding

 The pandemic is not yet far from over and there is a new  Delta variant virus that we need to be more careful. We still bond with friends but we are just limited in numbers. Anyway, our sunday get together at Mabel's house was some sort of laughing our hearts out because of jokes. Somehow we made Mabel happy since its just one month that Les is gone. We really had lots of fun and feasted on delicious potluck foods. Bonding and laughing with friends is very important in this pandemic but of course health and safety protocols should be observed even though most of us are fully vaccinated.

Soup Cravings at Bread Basket

 Its been three days of continuous raining because of typhoon Fabian which caused floodings in metro manila and nearby provinces. Because of the cold weather, we decided to have warm soup at Bread Basket in Vista Mall. The clam chowder and pumpkin soup are sooo delicious that satified our cravings.

Our lunch the next day was at our favorite Chicken Deli where we feasted on our pork belly and barbeque matched with grilled brocolli with cheese...

Health Monitoring

 For the past days, i am experiencing gas pain so i decided to to have my abdomen thoroughly check and also other laboratory tests mostly for monitoring because of my rheumatic heart.  Ultrasound and fasting blood sugar requires an empty stomach so its really hard to have no food for almost 16 hours. But thank God i was able to endure it in one go at Hi Precision Diagnostics Laboratory. Its supposed to be done at Medical city but due to the new requirements of maxicare, i decided to just pay instead of going through check ups and appointments for lab test. As much as possible i wanted to avoid hospital and though its a little bit pricey my laboratory test at least i was able to avoid being infected by going back and forth the hospital. About my results, its not really that perfect considering that i am already in my dual citizenship but i thank the Lord that most of the numbers are quite okay. Its still the same problem with my cholesterol and borderline sugar level, hopefully my cardiologist will be able to give me medicines that i am not allergic to. I also undergone a quantitavive antibody test to determine my antibody levels after i am fully vaccinated. The result was positive because my body develop immunology of 42.27 high and develop a good response for covid 19 vaccine. Negative results means no antibodies are detected inside the body. Anyway, whether we have a strong immune system or our antibodies are high, the best protection is still masking, washing, distancing and staying at home. We should always put lots of protection and always bear in mind wearing is caring.

A Visit to Lolo Uweng and more

 Its my first time to visit  Lolo Uweng's Shrine of Jesus in the Holy Sepulchre in Landayan, San Pedro Laguna. Thousands of people everywhere  from all walks of life visit Lolo Uweng for healing, jobs, protection and other prayers &wishes. Based on history, Lolo Uweng or Papa Lord image was seen after the World War II in Laguna de Bay in Landayan, San Pedro, Laguna. It was brought to a nearby chapel in honor of St. Michael and since then it became a haven to devotees from Laguna and beyond. At the back of the Church is a deep well that never dries up. To this day, people come to draw water from the well which is believed to have healing powers. It was really a nice feeling having visited the miraculous image of Lolo Uweng and i could have done this before. Anyway it was a nice spiritual experience and i have a great feeling that our prayers will be granted. Since we are already in San Pedro, we visited a friends house and proceed to our other home sweet home.

Great Memories

 Its still pandemic and because of travel restrictions, we still cannot go out of the country. For the past day, we are just reminiscing our great time during our family travel around Canada. Its so sad that although we are fully vaccinated, our brand of vaccine is not allowed in US, Canada and Europe so we need to follow quarantine protocols. Anyway, travelling is not yet in our agenda because we are more concern on our health and safety.

Pandemic Life

 Me and dirk are both retirees and we are just exploring and enjoying what is new in our area. Lunchouts and window shopping are our outlets everyday to prevent boredom at home. We tried new dishes in newly opened restaurants but of course we always follow health and safety protocols. We are already used to this pandemic life but soon everything will return to normal.

SRCLC Turnover Ceremony and More

 Our club, the Santa Rosa Centennial Lions Club PMJF held our turnover ceremony, general membership meeting and performance recognition for members last July 2. For our new Melvin Jones Fellow members, they also received their plaque of appreciation from the Lions club International for their dedicated humanitarian services. With the new set of officers for Lion year 2021 to 2022, we vowed to do more services and help the needy in the spirit of lionism ,
