Since the pandemic started a year ago, i became hooked to plants and up to now, my collections are growing in numbers. It makes me busy during the lockdown and it served as my stress reliever. By the way, house maintenance continued at Bachmann abode. My workers are very happy with the foods i served to them. Its my way of saying thank you for they are always there to help me maintained the house.
After more than a decade, we decided to put a modern touch on our humble home by replacing curtains to blinds. Its quite complicated to remove curtains and put blinds on the three windows because of the high ceiling, but thank God they were able to do it with the help of our village maintenance. Its a little bit pricey but it gives a new look on our house.
It is also quite expensive to maintain a house because we need service maintenance on our appliances. Just like our air condition, we seldom use it because of the cold weather and its pandemic. At the moment we do not accept visitors because of the corona virus. Back to our aircon, we found out that out of 7, three are functioning and the rest need troubleshooting and repair. Its soo pricey that we decided to have it repaired next time. They were able to clean 4 air conditions and repair one that we always use.
We also have our window screens and doors repaired. Our house is already 11 years and its the first time to put new screens on it.
Today is Valentines day and we celebrated it with a lunch out with my hubby and friends. I had an early light lunch with Dirk at Shakeys Paseo and heavy late lunch with friends at Dumbo Rustika restaurant in Vista Mall. For me everyday is valentines day and as what Helen Keller said, the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they must be felt with the heart. To my family and friends,Happy Valentines day !!!
Chinese new year celebrations is not just limited to China but also to those countries including the Philippines and observed it as a public holiday. Because of the pandemic, traditional celebrations in all china towns are not allowed to avoid transmission of the virus. There are some areas like in our place that a simple celebrations was done. In this lunar year, we are hoping for a more peaceful and prosperous year not only to chinese people but to everyone.
My mother, brother and mother in law shared the same birth date, February 4. Though my mother has long been gone to heaven, she will always be in our hearts forever. Mutti as i fondly called my mother in law turned 91 years old and she has a coffee celebration at home in Germany with Dirk's brother. My brother turned 66 but he is now in the hospital awaiting his operation because of a serious condition. I just wish my brother and Mutti all the very best and i know my mother is also celebrating in heaven. All my loved ones are in my prayers everyday.
My gardener really had a green thumb because he was able to plant and produce baguio beans. Every week i am excited with our veggie plants and of course i always share it with our neighbors, friends and family.
Last monday, we did drive to the Municipal Hall of Santa Rosa to pay the annual report fee of our husbands in the Immigration office. From there, we headed to SM Santa Rosa and had lunch at Max restaurant. While waiting for our foods, we were able to catch up on each other's lives because we haven't seen each other though we live in the same village. Because of the pandemic, there are just few mall goers and shoppers. Of course we strictly followed the health and safety protocols imposed by SM malls.
