Winter in Autumn

The summer season is not yet finished nor the beginning of Fall season, but its already snowing. The temperature reached minus 3 degrees today but the freezing weather didn't stop me from doing my grandma duty of bringing my grandson Kit to his school bus. The last snow i've experienced was i think ten years ago in Germany.

By the way, while waiting for his bus we sometimes do a Lola and Kit selfie ...

My Balikbayan Boxes

We did already send four balikbayan boxes and last weekend we send again the remaining two. The contents of my boxes are mostly groceries, house decorations and the stuff that we brought here in Canada because there is no more space in our luggage. Its good that we got fifty percent off on the 6th box. Words are not enough how grateful we are to my daughter and her partner Isko for helping, accommodating and driving us around during our more than 3 month stay here. By the way our last weekend here was spent at Calgary eating our favorite siopao and shopping at T&T. We also visited the new Horizon mall near cross iron mills.

Olivia's Christening

The daughter of a family friend May and Oliver had her baptismal yesterday. Olivia Mae was just 4 months old but she is behaved and lovable. Her welcome to the christian world was attended by more than 100 friends and relatives. The foods, drinks overflowed and so was the number of guests...

Calgary Fiesta Filipino 2018

Yesterday we joined other filipinos here in Calgary for the annual Fiesta Filipino. This celebrates the filipino arts, culture and traditions. It was held at the Olympic Plaza and feautured exhibits, songs, dances that showcased the richness of our cultural heritage. There are also different stalls for pinoy dishes and delicacies. Viva artists Xian Lim, Bela Padilla and Yassi Pressman also performed in the said event.
