Its Summertime

In Germany, its supposed to be springtime already but its snowing. Here in the Philippines, summer seems to come early. Its soooo hot that the temperature reached 37 degrees. In our subdivision, the residents wants to be refreshed and beat the heat by swimming in the pool, and this week the clubhouse pool becomes full.

The Lenten Season

Its Holy Week here in the Philippines, a very important religious observance for us Catholics. It is celebrated with huge festivities around the country. In some regions, Easter procession is started from Holy Thursday, where volunteers walk around the city in bare foot, carrying wooden cross. My family and some of our friends also observed this most important holiday by Visita Iglesia where they visited seven churches. My grandsons also witnessed the procession and the passion of Christ in Cabanatuan and Paete, Laguna. For us, we just stayed at home, pray and watched the Lenten programs in television. Praying, forgiving and repenting should be done throughout the year and not during Holy week only.

The Haskett's Despedida

The Hasketts, our very good neighbor friends and bowling buddies are going to leave tonight for a 5 month vacation in Canada. They have a von voyage party the other night attended by friends and neighbors. To you Yna and Jim, have a safe and blessed trip, for sure we're going to miss both of you.

Pool Therapy

Hydrotherapy seems to work wonderfully for Dirk who has problem with balance. Since he started the water exercise, it improved a lot his flexibility, strength and circulation capacity. We are very blessed that we have many swimming pool around our subdivision. He is doing the pool therapy twice a day and he likes it very much.

Bonding with Celebrities

We did drive to Alabang today to bond and dine with celebrity friends of our neighbor friend Luz. They became popular and hearthrob idols during their time though they are still very much visible on television and the big screen. We have lunch at Kanin Club in westgate, Alabang and the two celebrities are sooo friendly, gentleman and down to earth persons.
