The German Schnitzel

Schnitzel is a popular dish in Germany and is available in all sorts of unique entrees along with many other gourmet favorites. It is made with boneless meat thinned with a hammer, coated in bread crumbs and fried. The schnitzel is also garnished withe a slice of lemon and either vegetable salads, french fries or other side dishes. Its a coincidence that for two consecutive days we ordered the same dishes in two different restaurant 400 kilometers apart. My favorite is the regular schnitzel with french fries and Dirk ordered the shnitzel madagascar.

My New Camera

I'm too excited to blog because of my new camera the Panasonic Lumix FZ150. I've been blogging for almost four years and i think its now time to upgrade my blogs picture quality. Thanks a lot Schatz for this early easter presents. And with this high tech gadget, i'm planning to have a fashion blog soon and my models will be my FB and SFV friends.

Revisiting Köln

Köln or Cologne is the birthplace of Dirk and its where his family lives. It is the fourth largest city in Germany and more or less four hour drive from our place. Last tuesday, we started our journey to Koln to visit Mutti. On the way there we always visited Pappi's (father of Dirk) grave. Köln visit is not complete without going to the Cathedral where millions of tourist flocked every year. We also browsed around the shopping center and have lunch at Little Steak restaurant. The highlight of the trip is of course the family bonding. Mutti also handed us our easter presents while having dinner at the chinese restaurant. Its indeed a fulfilling trip and always a memory to treasure.

The number of poor people are increasing even in the developed countries. And there are lots of good people out there ready to help and share their blessings.


In the Philippines, a lot of people are crazy about this new magnum ice cream. It really taste good but its expensive. Here in Germany there are times that this ice cream is on sale.

The Nice Weather

The weather is getting friendlier day by day. Yesterday, i enjoyed ice cream time with friends and today we have lunch at our favorite italian restaurant. Many people are coming out of their nest and enjoy outdoor activities. The daylight saving time will also start tonight and the time difference between Germany and Philippines will now be 6 hours.

Its Spring Time

After a snowy and long winter season, Germany now sheds its layers and welcome the first rays of sunshine. It also welcomes the beginning of the warm season with the traditional easter preparations and other festivals. Yesterday, the weather was so nice that many people already started tending to their gardens and enjoying outdoor cafes. And because of the climate change, the weather might be unpredictable but this will not stop us from anticipating the beginning of a wonderful season.

Coffeetime with Friends

Barely a month here in Germany, one of the activities that i liked more is spending time with friends. I haven't seen them for almost half a year and we have a lot of catching up to talk about. I was with my other friends the other day and in between coffee/tea/cakes & laughter, we talked lengthily about our family life and future plans.
