Lunch at Cabalen

Our lunch today was at Cabalen, a filipino restaurant that serves a wide range of delectable native dish choices and sweets as well in fiesta-style buffet. Cabalen restaurant is not for Dirk but he enjoyed the crispy kangkong. Thanks again to my daughter Rosebelle who gave us the Cabalen gift certificate.





Prior to our lunch, Jim and his sister in law Joy visited us at home.

House Blessing

We attended the house blessing of a very good friend Bel and Les yesterday. Housewarming is one of the most interesting filipino and catholic traditions. Our priest from Don Bosco Parish church blessed everything in sight as we all lit candles and following him around the house while he sprinkled holy water on the walls, floors and even to us. He also blessed the candies and coins which was strewn by Bel. We then retrieve all the candies and coins for us to keep with the belief that it will bring us luck and prosperity.







We then feasted on delicious foods prepared by a catering service in our area. The grand celebration with food is a necessary practice, as the hosts must share what they have. It was really a wonderful night with friends and neighbors. And of course, no filipino party is complete without karaoke.

Girls Day Out

After our lunch at Canlubang golf restaurant where the big boys played golf, we declared the rest of the afternoon as first ladies bonding day. Laughter overwhelmed Bel's car because of the roundabout tour, we missed the exit twice on the way to Nuvali. We then browsed around the area where we ordered cakes at Contis and tried their snacks as well. We also shopped something at Paseo market and the unending girls talk at Yna and Bel's cozy house before calling it a day.

Wednesday Bowling

Yesterday, the "wednesday club" members played bowling again at the Mills and Country Club. It seems that wednesday is the bowling day and thursday becomes the golf day for our partners. Of course before those sporty activities, we always have lunch at the Canlubang Golf restaurant. Sharing those activities and laughter builds a strong friendship among us.

A Wonderful Day

My sisters and our extended families/good friends came to visit us yesterday. We have lunch together at the southforbes clubhouse while the kids are enjoying the pool. We considered them part of our families and everyday life because aside from being my sister's colleague at work, their children and the kids in our family are studying in the same school. Its really a wonderful day with lots of fun and laughter.
