An Afternoon with the Girls

Today, after our short shopping trip at Edeka store, we did proceed to Agnes place for a late lunch/early dinner. In between white wine, we have fun reminiscing funny moments in our lives and turned serious when we talked about our family life and future retirement in the Philippines.

Lunch at Thai Restaurant

Thai food is internationally famous. Whether chilli-hot or comparatively blands, harmony is the guiding principle behind each dish. Ten years ago, we did eat at Thai Restaurant in Frankfurt and we promised ourselves that will be our first and last taste of thai foods. Dirk and me disliked it because its soooo spicy.

But today, ten years after, Agnes encouraged me to try Mumaroi Thai Restaurant and in fairness the beef soup taste good and the crispy duck curry as well. The customer have options because they served the chilli separately.

Summer Sale and Sign of the Times

I have a late lunch with Lucy at Karstadt today and Elena joined us later. We planned to browse around the city and look for some girly things that are on sale. At Deichmann shoes and bag store, there is an ongoing promo that if you buy three items, the last item is free. Though most of the stores reduced their prices up to 70 percent, its still noticeable that not so many people are into shopping mode. With the present economic crisis, its very important to buy only the necessities of life.

After the Storm

Typhoon 'Basyang' hit central, southern and northern Luzon in the Philippines last wednesday and that includes our place in Laguna. The typhoon leaves Luzon in the dark and electricity resumes after two days. Though there's already an electric power, there's still no water service in our area in San Pedro.

The typhoon also didn't spare our retirement house in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Some of our plants gone kaputt and our tree loses some of its branches. But with the help of our gardener, it was now restored to its old self.

An Afternoon with Friends

Today, Elena invited us to have a late lunch at their place. She cooked Thai dish curry and grilled some meat. She is an amazing kitchen queen because she cooked very fast considering that she just came back from work. I'm very happy to share lunch with my other friends Lucy, Josephine and Jafe whom i haven't seen for a long time.

We then decided to browse around the city and shopped something.

Weather and Friends

While the super typhoon is hitting our area in the Philippines, here in our place is sooooo hot. But the past days there are some thunderstorm and rainshower leaving some areas with no electricity. The climate change is taking its toll everywhere, its not anymore normal.

Today its so humid and warm so i decided to browse around the city especially on stores with air condition. I ended up buying some shirts and shorts because of the summer sale. I'm about to get my Pangga in the covered garage when i saw some of my friends in the city. We refreshed ourselves in the ice cream parlor in between small talks about life.

Thomas' Birthday

Yesterday, we attended Thomas' birthday at their place in Lahr. His grill party was attended by his family and close friends. While the boys are hanging out in their spanish-theme garden, the kids and big kids are enjoying the whirlpool and swimming pool. Thomas' parents also played table tennis, so its more of a wellness party as well.
