Summer Vacation is Over
It's going to be back-to-school soon for my grandkids and all students. Kim and daphne spend summer vacation with us and they are looking forward to a productive year ahead when the school opens next week. They enjoyed the family outing, swimming, shopping, watching kids movies, dining out and tending to our 3 puppies.

Buddy's Birthday
My "other" daughter Buddy is celebrating her 20th birthday today. We have an advance birthday celebration for her at Rose and Grace Restaurant yesterday. She's a friend to my children since she's 14 and she moved in with us three years ago. She also served as Kim's tutor before and she's now a senior computer student. Her family in San Pedro also prepared something to celebrate her natal day today.
To you Buds, Happy Birthday and wishing you good health and all the best in life.

Alabang Town Center
Alabang Town Center is the only open air retail area that successfully blended natural elements with retail space, dining, and entertainment choices and an activity center. It offers a refuge where comfort, relaxation and pleasurable shopping happen in one place.

Its diverse dining, entertainment and shopping zones for families, kids and teens, sports and hobby enthusiasts establishes it as as one of the premier shopping destination in southern metro manila.

We have an enjoyable afternoon and my grandkids liked very much their newfound freedom in this kid-friendly ayala mall.

Back to School Mode
June is the most expensive month because of the class opening. It's going to be back to school soon for my kids and grandkids. Schoolchildren will be trooping back to their classrooms for another year of learning. Sadly, not every Filipino child can afford new things at the start of the year. Some parents even transfer their children from private to public schools because of the increasing cost of education. We're also not spare from the present crisis. I encouraged my grandkids to buy just the necessary school needs aside from the stuff required by the school.

FRIDAY AT SM Santa Rosa
There's really a never ending house needs. Yesterday, we did buy some house stuff at Ace hardware and have lunch at Flavours of China. And today, we bought Daphne an umbrella and from our past trips at SM, Rosebelle bought school needs of Kim.

May is the merriest and the most beautiful month of the year. It is the season of colorful festivals and Santacruzan is one such festival. It's not only in towns that they have the Flores de Mayo but in shopping malls as well.

Charity Golf Tournament
Dirk joined the 2010 Governor's cup and Fellowship golf tournament at Canlubang Golf and country club yesterday. It is a fund raising event for the benefit of street children and less fortunate families. Though he didn't win in the healthy competition and raffle, at least he was able to share to those who are less in life.

Family Outing
Yesterday, we did drive to Nasugbu, Batangas for a much needed rest and recreation. It's our way of escaping the heat and it serve as a bonding moments for us and the family of my youngest sister. We first visited a church in Nasugbu and our initial plan is to go to Punta Fuego but changed mind along the way.

So instead of Punta Fuego, we did go to Hamilo Coast, SM Land’s maiden residential leisure development that aims to build an enduring tradition and reputation for leisure living in the Philippines. It is in this resort that our car broke down and its good that Joey, my brother in law have a big car that can accommodate all of us. I called a towing service that bring our car to the auto repair shop. That made our trip more costly and our consolation is that we're all safe, Thank God.

We then drive at Canyon Cove where the kids enjoyed swimming in the beach and pool. While we have lunch at Hamilo, our merienda was at Canyon Cove.

Our dinner was at Nuvali in Santa Rosa and we're really all tired from the long trip.
